Companies usually write letters like this once they have something to boast about. This one starts earlier than that, on purpose, because the whole point of RoleShift is saying true things at the moment they are least convenient. So: this is where things actually stand, before launch, while the counters still say zero.
RoleShift is being built by one person, evenings and weekends, from a finance job in the south of England. Not a developer, not a recruiter, not backed by anyone. The reason is a conversation that kept repeating: someone says they want out of their job, you ask what they would rather do, and the answer is some version of "I do not know, and anyway I cannot afford to start again."
Both halves of that answer turn out to be more fixable than people think, and almost nobody explains how. The job boards do not help, because a board that profits from volume has no reason to tell you that most of its "entry level" listings are nothing of the sort.
Since July 2026: a two-minute career quiz with no signup. Fourteen guides covering the real routes into new careers, from apprenticeships to nursing to the Civil Service, every figure checked against official sources and dated. A page publishing all 53 of those verified figures with their sources, including the three we could not verify to our own standard, listed separately and labelled as such. Five published tests that every job advert must pass before it goes up. A working employer app you can try without an account. And the board itself, carrying clearly labelled sample listings so both sides can see exactly what a qualifying role looks like.
The rejection counter sits at zero, because no employer has submitted an advert yet. The founding wall has six empty slots, because there are no founding employers yet. It would have been very easy to make those numbers look better. A row of invented logos, a fake counter, "as seen in" badges from publications that have never heard of us.
Every one of those tricks is standard practice, and every one of them would quietly break the only promise this site makes, which is that nothing on it is faked. So the zeros stay up until reality moves them. When they move, this letter is where the honest version of that story gets told.
No pay-to-rank. Founding employers get one clearly labelled highlighted slot, and that is the only prominence that will ever exist. No invented research: when this site says "we checked," there is a page showing the working. No testimonials until there are real people to give them. No advert that demands years of experience for a role labelled entry level, whatever it pays.
The next phase is the uncomfortable one: getting real employers onto the board, one honest conversation at a time. The site is ready for them. The founding wall is waiting for the first six names, and the terms are agreed directly, one to one, before public pricing exists.
There will be a letter two when there is something real to report. Not before.

RoleShift, August 2026
The founding wall has six slots and a permanent memory. The first honest employers get the only permanence this site will ever sell.
