RoleShift does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking. That is why there is no cookie banner: under UK rules (PECR), consent banners are needed for tracking and marketing technologies, and this site has none.
One thing, and only if you use it: when you tap the heart to save a role, the saved list is kept in your browser's local storage under the name rs_saved. It stays on your device, is never sent to RoleShift, and disappears if you clear your browser data. This is the kind of storage the rules class as strictly necessary to provide something you asked for.
The site is served by Netlify, our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations. Job data is served from our database provider, Supabase. If you use the location filter, the place name or postcode you type is sent to postcodes.io, a free UK geocoding service, to find its coordinates; nothing else about you is sent. If you use the Ask RoleShift helper, the messages you type are processed as described in the privacy policy. None of these set advertising or analytics cookies on this site.
If we ever add analytics or any technology that needs consent, this page will say so first and a consent choice will appear before anything is set. Questions welcome.
